After 3 days of Motor City Comic Con over the weekend I'm starting to understand my place in the comic biz. My goals have always been to spread the message rather than bring in the "Big Bucks" and that's exactly what happens for an indie comic writer at a major comic con.
I'm glad I got to to make people laugh, and that the message about menstrual advocacy was shared. Flow showed up to my table with someone needing a pad and fortunately, I was able to be there for her so Flow didn't ruin her comic con experience. My sales pitch got a little smoother by the end of the weekend and I also got a lot more choosy about who I gave it to.
Lessons have been learned and I'm glad I went!
